Awareness Campaigns
Prime Trust believes that women in its SHGs should be advocates for social change in their own communities. However, change must stem out of proper education and understanding of the issues and be encouraged despite cultural stigmas. For this reason, Prime Trust conducts awareness programs in the SHG communities covering a range of topics. The execution and extension of such programs depends on available volunteers and their personal initiative.
Health Issues
India has over 3.5 million AIDS victims and estimates continue to grow. Prime Trust provides programs on HIV-AIDS education and prevention in hopes to curb this rapidly transmitted disease. Also, programs on nutrition provide practical measures to improve health conditions for the women and their families.
Women's Rights
India is a patriarchal society and in many regards still functions in systems (religious or otherwise) that treat women as second-rate citizens. Therefore, Prime Trust teaches on topics such as gender equality and domestic violence.
Environmental awareness
Prime Trust wants to educate the people on the issues related to environment especially on global warming, rain water harvesting, disuse of plastics, planting trees. The organization motivates their women group to save electricity and conserve water. The children in the school are also the target group for this activity.
