Building a Sustainable Home for the Janani Girls
Located in Puducherry, South India, Janani Home is a place of shelter for young girls that have nowhere else to go. In recent months the government has chosen to start consolidating smaller homes to reduce the amount of homes and make it easier to administrate them. As such, Janani is at risk of being closed for being too small.
Currently 10 girls are staying at Janani, our ambition is to move to a location that can house at least 20 girls. Our goal is to create a sustainable home fueled by solar power with an organic garden to supply the girls with fresh vegetables. To achieve this goal we are looking for a set of like-minded people with the skills required to help create the home of the Janani girls' dreams.
What we need for the home
The home build will take place in several phases. We are currently in Phase 1 and are fundraising to purchase land and cover any legal fees associated with purchasing the same.
What we can offer in return
- An opportunity to learn and to do something with your skills and abilities
- A home away from home in beautiful South India
- Publicity for your business/organisation
- Lots of fun new friends!
